EDITING & ITS
You know your work better than anyone. At a certain point, you'll get that innate writerly feeling that you've done all you can on your own, but your piece still isn't quite there yet.
Maybe there are some gaps that need filling; maybe it lacks structure; maybe the language could use some refining.
The stage you've reached will decide what type of editing you need.
If you're not sure whether you're at the copyediting or proofreading stage yet, check out these steps needed to publish a book.
Depending on the level of copyediting needed (light, medium, or heavy), we'll evaluate grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency. A heavier copyedit may also include: syntax, format, and some restructuring.
The last stage of the editing process that ensures the manuscript is free of typesetting errors; a last run-through of the text, with a focus on accuracy and consistency including headers, page numbers, line breaks, and photo captions.
If you're still unsure what type of editing you need, or if you feel you need a combination of these, email me a sample of your work. I'll help you identify what stage you've reached in the writing process.
