About Polished Pages
“I decided to become an editor because I love seeing writers fawn over their own creation."
-Polished Pages Founder, Editor & Coach
THE EDITOR BEHIND POLISHED PAGES
Welcome! I am an editor, proofreader, and writing coach with a love for juicy YA novels, epic fantasies, and tell-all non-fictions. I'm also a devoted academic who takes pleasure (and pride) in seeing students succeed in their writing endeavours, and that includes getting them into their first-choice program.
WHO I REALLY AM
I am an advocate for ingenuity, painstakingly precise, and brimful of passion. I am a crafty storyteller, thoughtful writing coach, and scrupulous editor.
I am a creative who cares.
Words. All words.
Polished Pages exists because of my deep fondness for language, for transmitting ideas, and for telling a story that's yearning to be told. There are no limits as to how I can exercise these elements. I edit and proofread all written works but specialize in:
✔ Young adult fiction
✔ Fantasy and urban fantasy
✔ New age nonfiction (e.g. topics around spirituality, oracle/tarot decks + booklets)
✔ Theses and dissertations
✔ Statements of intent (e.g. program entry, scholarship letters)
A piece of writing should make someone feel something. It should inspire, stir sentiments, linger like the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
That’s why I take the time to understand you—what you stand for, what you hope to achieve, and who your audience is. Your desired impact is all that matters.
Poor writing and a dishonest writer's voice can be detected within seconds. Rushed storytelling and one-dimensional characters wreck a potentially provocative narrative. My promise is to evade these audience-killers and work together to create a quality, polished work.
Are you struggling with a writing project? I can help you meet deadlines, overcome writer's block, and create your very best work. Learn more about my coaching services.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER, EDITOR & COACH
Polished Pages was founded by Katrina Tortorici (author name K.T. Anglehart) in 2016 following her university studies in journalism and professional writing. During her journalism BA, she contributed to various school, online, and community news publications, such as The Concordian, The Link, The Suburban, and Il Cittadino Canadese. Prior to graduation, she took a year off to study scriptwriting, where she wrote and pitched an original series to TV networks CBC and CTV, who expressed interest in the project. At the time, she was also hired as a pilot writer (later co-producer) for an upcoming mobile series.
At the start of her full-time career, Katrina was launched into the world of digital marketing, where she honed her skills in copywriting and blogging and took on roles as a content manager and editor. It was through this fast-paced agency experience that she learned to appreciate the art of writing for one's desired audience.
As a fiction enthusiast, Katrina was driven to pursue a Master's in Creative Writing, during which she expanded her services to manuscript editing. She relishes in coaching aspiring authors to develop and refine their story; but her love for academia and flair for the English language had also inspired her to help students produce their best work, namely statement letters, theses, and dissertations.
Katrina discovered her passion for storytelling at a young age, but it was in the seventh grade, under the guidance of her eccentric English teacher, when her love for the written word was truly founded. She is currently working on the release of her debut novel—the first of an urban fantasy saga entitled The Wise One.
Besides English, Katrina speaks French, Italian, and Spanglish. When she's not writing her book or editing, she is travelling with her favourite human—her high-school-sweetheart-turned-husband, Andy—and obsessing over her pet bunny, Magic, and newly rescued pup, Nessy.
