Designed for the creative writer in everyone
WRITING WORKSHOP: OUTLINE YOUR NOVEL
Have you had a novel idea on the back burner for months, even years?
Here's the truth about books: the good ones aren't winged. If you've always aspired to write a novel, then it's important you ready yourself for the journey ahead.
Outlining. Every novel begins with one—just ask J.K. Rowling and George R.R. Martin. Contrary to what so many writers believe, it has very little to do with writing while "inspired". And writer's block? There's no such thing.
Having a deep understanding of your characters, plot elements, and universe's rules will strengthen your narrative and help you to better connect with your target readers. Because your outline will be your story guide—similar to a bible in TV series writing—you'll be free to focus on the fun stuff, like prose and dialogue.
Agents, publishers, and readers can see through plot holes, inconsistencies—generally, all writing that lacks attention to detail. Outlining helps to bypass these issues, along with:
facilitating the writing process
keeping you motivated
rendering your book an easier read
helping to eliminate continuity errors
helping to piece your story together
This workshop is designed to help writers complete an entire novel outline in a span of six weeks. All work will be peer-reviewed in a dynamic, professional environment. Participants will leave the workshop with a body of work that will enable them to begin the writing process.
